Taking a Break...

Hey, guys, I just wanted to let you all know that I need to take some time away from the blog. Right as I was finishing that review of Kong: Skull Island, I got hit with a really bad stomach virus and was really sick for about two days. While I no longer physically sick, I'm still not quite myself, as I have no energy or drive to do anything, and the pressure of needing to finish what I started is really getting to me. I think that, coupled how I was racing to get everything I had planned done before Godzilla vs. Kong came out, led to a major case of burnout that I now need to recover from. I thought I would be able to get back to it again once I got over the sickness but, no, I'm going to need some more time. So, how long will I gone? Hopefully, it won't be more than another week or so, and then I'll get back to work. However, what I will get back to doing will be my series of reviews for October, so I don't know what the next actual posted review will be. And I actually started a review of Godzilla: King of the Monsters before I realized I wasn't up to it and so, I need to put that aside for now. All I can say is that you'll see that when you see it.

I apologize to those who're disappointed. Believe me, it upsets me most of all but I just can't do anything right now. Hopefully, with a little time, I'll be back to full strength and ready to get back to blowing your minds. So, for now, take care.

  1. Take your time. Better to have to wait for a new post than have ya hack out something you aren't happy with.

    1. Man, I assure you don't have COVID. I'm not dying, I just need to get the eye of the tiger back.

As for my October review series, I keep the theme a secret until I announce it in the middle of September, so you'll just have to wait until then.

And yes, I did see Godzilla vs. Kong. The fights were good, but it was not at all the movie I was expecting or really wanted. I thought it was a lot of wasted potential, honestly.

  3. I really thought Godzilla vs. kong was worth the wait. What did you think of the characters? I think the relationship between the main women with the deaf native girl was the best because they had good chemistry together.

    1. I liked those two, as well as the little girl's connection with Kong, but the other characters I either didn't think much of or I found kind of annoying, like the podcast guy.

I liked that Kong had a lot of screentime, the visuals were great, and, again, the fights were awesome, but I felt the movie should have really been more focused on Godzilla and Kong's conflict than spending so much time on the Hollow Earth stuff. Also, Mechagodzilla should have been saved for another movie. It felt like they treated him the same way they did Venom in Spider-Man 3.

  4. I dont blame them for cramming lots of storylines into the film because who knows if the monster verse will continue.

  5. my last questions are:
    1. When do you have plans for your two vaccine shots.
    2. You do relize no time to die is coming in early octobert right?
    3. Since you saw Godzilla vs. Kong, is godzilla 2014 still your least favorite in the monstervse or has it recently changed. Hope to see a review of it soon.

    1. 1. Don't know. I'm leery about the potential of the shots to make you ill for a little bit, especially given what I just went through.

      2. I do, but there's nothing I can do about it, review-wise. Plus, I probably wouldn't see it until November, as I have only one thing on my mind during October.

      3. Can't say. I'd probably have to re-watch the three Godzilla MonsterVerse films back to back to see. Also, don't expect to see that review of Godzilla vs. Kong any time soon. You will see that King of the Monsters review at some point in the coming months (as well as maybe one of a certain other recent entry in the series; no promises, though) but I couldn't tell you when you'll see Godzilla vs. Kong on here.

  6. What is the recent entry you might do?

    1. If I decide to do it, then you'll see it; otherwise, I'll leave it to your imagination. Surely it can't be that hard to figure out.

  7. I'm sorry I am drawing a blank. Mabye give me a hint. I think you should do the review because it will prevent you from being bored and it could give you back more energy and whatnot.

  8. I'm going to be catching up on my October reviews in the meantime. Once I've gotten to a comfortable place there, then I'll do this other stuff.

It's a Godzilla movie made since 2014 that I haven't covered yet. You yourself asked me when I was going to do it not too long back.

  9. If its shin godzilla do I win a prize for guaessing it right> Al kidding aside I thought you werent going to do ant asian films and you said you didnt know when to review it and I dont remeber asking you about shin godzilla. One more thing Godzilla is my favorite fictional character as well.

    1. It is Shin Godzilla and, yes, you have asked me before when I was going to do it. When I said I wasn't doing any Asian movies, I was talking about when I thought I was going to do all those monster movie reviews in the lead-up to Godzilla vs. Kong. But, since that review of Godzilla: King of the Monsters I started isn't going to be finished for a while now, I figured why not throw Shin Godzilla in as well?

However, I said that I don't know for sure I'm going to do it, I just said I MIGHT. I could end up re-watching Shin Godzilla and decide that I need to sit on it a little longer before going forward with a review. I'll say this: if I do decide to do it, you'll see it before King of the Monsters.

    1. I don't have NetFlix myself but I have other ways of watching that.

Anyway, I'm not down anymore. I've been working really hard to get back on track with my October reviews.

  12. I saw Godzilla vs. Kong a few weeks ago. I thought it could have been done better but I thought it wasn’t nearly as wasted potential as the 2014 film was. I actually enjoyed the lead characters.

  13. I have always wondered did you ever watch the x files? I recall on a review you did mentioned you didnt care for it ( I dont remeber what review it was thought). If so why? I ask because it seems like you alley.

    1. I can remember watching a few episodes at various points and deciding it just wasn't for me. I know, you'd think it would be, given my love for science fiction and horror, but it doesn't appeal to me, for whatever reason.

  14. I better ask this before I forget. What is our favorite stephen king novel and movie adaptation? Good luck on your next october reviews.

    1. The only King novel I've ever read was Christine. I couldn't even begin to say which movie adaptation I love the most. Among my favorites are Christine, Cujo, The Dead Zone, The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile, The Shining, and Stand By Me, to name a few.

By the way, heads up: you should see that Godzilla: King of the Monsters review within the next week or so. I won't be doing Shin Godzilla, though.
