Pack your bags and get your visas ready, because come October 1st, we're going around the world to experience the horror films other countries have to offer. And yes, I'm well aware this was the theme of 2021's Cinemassacre's Monster Madness, which became notorious for having plagiarized content, but I want to state that I had already decided on this year's theme long before I knew James Rolfe was doing the same thing, so either great minds do think alike or he plagiarized me as well! In all seriousness though, I'm not copying anybody. This is just an idea I've had for a while and decided to go ahead with it. Anyway, unlike what James did, this is not going to be a one movie a country deal, nor is there going to be any set course, aside from chronological order, for the most part. We're just going to hop back and forth across the globe and discuss both well-known and obscure movies from a number of various countries. Not all of them are going to be movies that I like, and there will even be some that I think flat-out suck, so it'll be fairly diverse. Also, some of them are going to be massively updated versions of reviews I did in my first couple of years, which you can consider something of a test for what next year's October Fest will be. And finally, the movies will come from any country aside from the United States and Canada (sorry to my readers up north).
Not to spoil anything but here are hints of what you have to look forward to: German Expressionism, horrific French thrillers from the 50's and early 60's, a tale of a witch from the Soviet Union, a number of vampire tales from various countries, a stop in Japan to visit the craziest haunted house imaginable and to investigate the urban legend of a supposedly cursed videotape, films by a certain Italian master of horror, some early work from a Mexican director who's since become an out and out auteur, and an updated review of probably the most controversial movie I've ever covered (hint: pole up the ass and out the mouth).
